The fourth-year pupils of the Via Galliera complex were involved, under the coordination of teacher Laura Ambrisi. The results were presented on Saturday 25 May 2024 in the Neo-Renaissance courtyard of the school.
The students took part in workshops in which they absorbed lectures on the porticoes by Marco Vagnerini of the Lions Committee and used an innovative e-book created by the Arts Educational Course run by the lecturers Campagnoli and Del Gaudio of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. The teachers then made cards with details of the porticoes. The pupils were then given the task of identifying them during field trips with an engaging treasure hunt.
The outcomes of the educational module could be admired in the small but complete exhibition posted in the school courtyard. It included thoughts and drawings on the construction characteristics of the porticoes and on some of them in particular. The pupils showed themselves to be very up-to-date on the subject: a drawing of the portico of Palazzo d'Accursio already featured the UNESCO plaque affixed only a week earlier.
The point of this initiative was to build and sustain interest and affection for the porticoes – which are identitary elements of our city – in order to foster future actions of care and respect for heritage.
