The Galvani secondary school in Bologna participated in the photographic exhibition “The Porticoes of Bologna - a UNESCO World Heritage Site”, (Cavazza Hall, 23-25 October 2025), presenting 20 colour shots that offered a new perspective at the Porticoes of Bologna.
The third-year pupils of the Italian-English scientific secondary school previously took part in a summer workshop on Art & Design (Photography), held in June 2025. They received a series of guided tours of the porticoes of Bologna, organised by Ascom Guide.
The initiative arose from collaboration with the Municipality of Bologna (World Heritage Porticoes Office), the Lions Club, Ascom Confcommercio Bologna and the Italian Youth Association for UNESCO.
The primary objective of the project was to raise awareness among younger generations about the importance of cultural heritage education, and to appreciate it not only as treasure to be preserved, but also as a fundamental tool for building peace and global citizenship.
The World Heritage Porticoes Office of the Municipality of Bologna also selected some images to represent the city at a photographic exhibition (9-13 October 2025) coinciding with the conference on “Green and sustainable development of World Heritage Sites”. The event took place as part of the 7th Taihe Forum held at the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City in Beijing.
